BrandgenCASE STUDY · A RESTAURANT IN SINGAPORE · JULY 2026

Everything a brand makes, still on brand.

A small brand's identity is far more than one photo or one space. Mare learns the whole of it, then makes sure every new thing the brand puts out still carries it.

ABSTRACT

We analysed a ten-seat Southeast Asian gastrobar's public content and mapped its visual language, to create new, on-brand assets. From the brand's own material Mare learned the whole identity: dishes on handmade ceramics, the hand-drawn monogram and handwritten menus, the sea story behind its name, a voice that writes in lowercase, and the warm tungsten light it shoots in. Now every new image is judged against all of it.

Prawn raja — a new shot of a dish already on the menu
made by mare

The dish is one the brand already serves. Mare re-photographs it from the brand's own references — the dish itself, the slate, the ceramic — so new imagery never means an invented menu.

Don't waste time staring at poor quality generations, Mare automatically catches faulty assets.

Five candidates were made for this study. None survived. Everything that drifted from the rules — too glossy, a room that looks like the brand's but isn't, heritage that was never photographed, too close to a single reference — was cut in review before it reached this page.

A generated kelong at dusk
REMOVED
made by mare
A kelong that was never photographed. The brand's name honours real sea heritage — synthetic heritage isn't ours to invent. Killed.
Drink render in an invented room
REMOVED
made by mare
The cup is right; the room behind it isn't the brand's — invented architecture wearing the nets and the red pendant. Killed.
Interior mood render
REMOVED
made by mare
A near-copy of the room as photographed — 0.88 proximity to a reference the brand owns the room for but not the photo of. Killed by the mimicry guard.
Otak recreated in marble daylight
REMOVED
made by mare
The signature otak, recreated in marble daylight. Right dish, wrong room — and a 0.93 clone of the source photo. Killed.
First-pass dish hero, styled steam
REMOVED
made by mare
A dish the brand doesn't serve, in a room that isn't the brand's — invented on both counts. On-brand by the numbers, but a fabrication. Killed.

Every asset ships with its receipts.
